Binding-time Improvement and Fold/Unfold Transformation
Binding-time improvement (BTI) is an important preliminary stage in partial evaluation. Some BTI rules can be automated, but the state of the art is that many improvements are still made \by hand" using an ordinary text editor. Mechanically assisted fold/unfold transformation could provide a more systematic framework for BTI.
